Our award-winning, self-catering holiday cottages & apartments are situated on the edge of the Ham Hill Country Park and nature reserve, and only a 10 minute walk from the historic village of Norton sub Hamdon, near Yeovil, in a stunning area of south Somerset.
Little Norton Mill self-catering holiday accommodation, set around a listed 18th century waterwheel and millpond, provides the perfect base to explore the attractive areas of Somerset and Dorset with their lovely market towns, villages and countryside. In the local area there are numerous National Trust properties, important nature reserves and stunning public gardens. The area is also renowned for its many walks, both long and short, including the famous Parrett and Liberty Trails.
There are also two award-winning country pubs within walking distance, both of which serve delicious food and drink, made from locally-sourced produce.
Why Little Norton Mill
Little Norton Mill is located next to one of Somerset’s loveliest & oldest village, Norton sub Hamdon, with its country pub, community shop, ancient church and cafe.
Our 7 acres of gardens and grounds, including a watermill and lake, are a delight, and a haven for wildlife. Our resident kingfisher can often be seen, along with our family of ducks, moor hens, chickens and goats. You are also likely to see our badgers, that often make an appearance.
Little Norton Mill has a wealth of local activities, with many National Trust properties and other manors & gardens in the area including: Montacute, Barrington Court, Lytes Cary, Forde Abbey, Stourhead, Tintinhull Gardens, Sherborne Castle, and Hestercombe. Other nearby attractions include: Cheddar Gorge, Stonehenge, Longleat Safari Park, Fleet Air Arm Museum and Haynes Motor Museum.
Little Norton Mill is perfectly situated to explore the pretty villages and market towns that Somerset and Dorset are famous for – Crewkerne, Martock, Montacute, Bruton, Beaminster, Cerne Abbas, Castle Cary, Beaminster, Glastonbury, Wells, Sherborne, Chard and Frome are all within easy reach.
For the more adventurous, the Dorset World Heritage coast and towns of Lyme Regis, Abbotsbury & West Bay are only a 35-minute drive. The area is also a walkers’ paradise with many trails and footpaths, and our position at the foot of Ham Hill Country Park offers immediate access to those that love the outdoors.
